ACTIVITAS Community Interest Group is being set up by the directors who have a long standing track record of providing senior level leadership and management within previous positions in large charities and housing associations.
We are setting up ACTIVITAS CIC to put our combined knowledge and expertise to good use and benefit those in the community who struggle with vulnerabilities such as mental health and learning disabilities, some who spend time in institutional settings and some who are homeless/at risk of being homeless, or where they have struggled to maintain independent living in general needs housing.
Our homes and support will provide a housing and management function specific to the needs of client groups with higher frequency of welfare visits and maintenance and repairs services, matching the complex and often challenging needs of the client groups.
We will assist in the sourcing and accessing of mixed tenure accommodation whilst ensuring the standards are maintained to decent homes standards.
We will ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained.
We will offer services that upskill the people we support with tenancy management, knowledge about their rights as an occupier, support with individual livings skills and where necessary signpost.
We will work to assist with behaviour change programmes that do not discriminate when someone is unwell or disadvantaged.
We will work to benefit the community group by improving health inequalities that are known to this community group and reduce the disadvantage in the longer term. Our reporting and professional partnerships will underpin our own outcomes aligning ourselves to the five ways to wellbeing.
We will seek to lessen the risk of homelessness, improve wellbeing, reduce the need for reliance on emergency and blue light services, reduce attendance at A&E departments and help build sustainable communities.
We will work to improve outcomes and life chances for Vulnerable people.
We will work to support others to enhance life skills/knowledge that ensure independent living is successful
We will work to help Support healthy choices to improve Health Inequalities.
We will Facilitate wellbeing through being an active coordination to networks of other Community interest groups or charities that hold similar social values and support the five ways to wellbeing, increasing life chances and improving wellbeing. The community will benefit as we advocate for their needs being met and ensure access to other services that are not reaching them.
